Last week the team at Revolution Technologies attended the CEDIA conference held at Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
With enormous interest from attendees across all product ranges, we are pleased to report that this year’s conference was an enormous success. Some of the highlights of the show:
Our new display stand. It was our aim this year to generate some interest, plus re-introduce Velodyne subwoofers, and what better way to do so, than to show the complete range – around 23 subwoofers in total. The stand was open plan, thus allowing walk through and ample room for people to view all products.
CEDIA Stand 2009
New range of Mounts and Brackets released. Revolution Technologies has extended its range of mounts and brackets to now include a premium range from AVF NEXUS. This award-winning new product range offers a variety of innovative and attractive solutions for all your AV mounting requirements. This new product generated much interest at the show, which had Channel News raving about the NXL4502PB cornermount on their website. Click here to view the article.

Velodyne Training. We were very fortunate to procure the services of Mr Joe Finn, Velodyne Acoustics Training Manager, who conducted two training sessions at the show. The feedback from these sessions was most positive.
Mr Joe Finn, Training Manager for Velodyne Acoustics will be conducting two training sessions at CEDIA this year.
Over the two sessions, Joe will provide general subwoofer training, as well as a complete review of the Velodyne products and applications. Both sessions are certified by CEDIA Asia Pacific and earn CEDIA CEU’s (Continuing Education Units*).
Session One: Certified Bass Professional, Level One
Date: Wednesday July 15, 2009

Description:
Velodyne, the authority on bass, offers a 90-minute certification course (earns 0.5 CEDIA CEU*). We discuss the role of bass in home theaters; the components required for great bass; and understanding popular subwoofer designs. Set-up techniques for integrating subwoofers with systems; using multiple subwoofers; and placement suggestions are covered extensively.
Session Two: Certified Bass Professional, Level Two
Date: Friday July 17, 2009
Time: 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Description:
Velodyne, the authority on bass, offers a 90-minute certification course (Level One required prior to taking Level Two: earns 0.75 CEDIA CEU*). We discuss subwoofer placement strategies, and room-bass optimization using multi-band equalization and RTA (Real-Time Analysis). We examine how subwoofers can enhance distributed audio systems, pre-wiring options, and a comprehensive review of Velodyne products, technologies and patented innovations.
*CEDIA CEU’s: Earned upon taking and passing the Level One or Level Two exam on Velodyne’s web site. You must take the course prior to passing the exam. Level One is required before taking Level Two. To take the exam, go to www.velodyne.com/quiz, and enter the access code given at the training. Take the test and correctly answer 80% of the questions. Feedback on pass / fail is immediate. You can re-take the test if necessary.
